Dr. Claus Kühnel studied and received his Ph.D. in information electronics from the Technical University of Dresden, Germany.

After development work in various industries, he then worked until his retirement at QIAGEN Instruments (CH) as Director of Electronic Engineering & Embedded Systems for the development of electronic hardware and hardware-related software.

At present, he is involved with IoT topics and works as an author and consultant.
